On Vampires

She snapped her gum loudly and peered at me. I smirked and turned back to look over the ledge again.

“How do you even chew gum, anyway? I thought Vampires didn’t produce saliva.” It was only a five story jump, it didn’t seem so bad.

To my left, I heard the click of a lighter and caught a small red glow in the corner of my eye from where her partner was standing. He took a drag off the cigarette he just lit and shrugged.

“We don’t breathe, either.”

I rolled my eyes. The Undead were downright strange. I tightened the straps on my backpack and climbed over the rail. I had known I was going to regret following them from the moment I had laid eyes on the two.

Love it! It gives you just enough detail to be self-suffienct, but leaves you wondering more! Who are these vampires? Why are they jumping off a roof/balcony/ledge? Where are they going? Curious minds want to know!
